My start in this industry goes back to 2018. It began as a summer job as a mosquito technician, but I quickly realized I had a knack for the science behind it—and a strange comfort level with things that make most people run for the hills.
I eventually moved on to a major national firm where I went through a rigorous pest identification and chemical application ‘boot camp.’ I spent the next five years in the field, managing everything from complex bed bug remediations to infestations involving mites so small you’d barely notice them—until they become a problem. I’m the type of guy who actually enjoys the research; if I encounter a unique pest issue, I’m going to study it until I’ve found the most effective, science-backed solution for that specific environment.

The shift for me happened when I realized that working for a corporate giant often meant choosing speed over quality. I was expected to hit high production numbers, which often meant rushing the very people who were trusting me with their homes. I didn’t want to be a ‘volume’ technician; I wanted to be a specialist.
